How to Play & Rules

Everything you need to build your squad, manage transfers and understand how points are scored.

STEP 1

Build your Fantasy 8

Select exactly 8 senior players: 1 goalkeeper, 2 defenders, 3 midfielders and 2 forwards. There are no player prices and no budget.

Your squad must follow the current per-real-team player limit shown in Fantasy 8.

STEP 2

Choose your Captain

Select one of your eight players as Captain. The Captain receives 2× his entire Fantasy score for the match, including positive and negative points.

A penalty scored during normal match play counts as a normal goal. Penalty shootout kicks after a drawn knockout match do not score Fantasy points. Fantasy totals can be negative.

TRANSFERS

When can I change my team?

Before tournament kickoffUNLIMITED changes until Monday 12 October, 3:00 PM EAT • max 1 player from any one real team

First window after Monday matchdayUp to 5 player changes • max 1 player from any one real team

Later group-stage windowsUp to 2 player changes • max 1 player from any one real team

Before Quarter-finalsFull squad rebuild • max 2 players from any one real team

Before Semi-finalsFull squad rebuild • max 3 players from any one real team

Before FinalFull squad rebuild • max 5 players from any one real team

Your saved squad at 3:00 PM EAT on Monday becomes the starting baseline. Unlimited pre-tournament edits do not consume the five-change allowance. Fantasy remains locked while the senior matchday is in progress and reopens only after all senior fixtures in that block are Full Time. Quarter-final and Semi-final windows are separate even when both rounds take place on Friday. Earlier points always stay with the squad that earned them.

Reminder notifications: Fantasy users receive alerts 2 hours and 1 hour before the current team-change window closes.

IMPORTANT

Rolling substitutions

Fantasy eligibility and clean-sheet scoring do not depend on the Team Manager starting lineup. The approved senior squad is treated as Fantasy-active for its team match.
